I observed some of these teabagger events here in Tennessee (village-idiot conventions, whites only). When the cameras aren't around, these shitwits gather in groups to talk about God and how Obama's an Islamic-terrorist-Communist homosexual foreigner. In short order the conversations are increasingly peppered with "niggers," "Commies," "queers." -- and, of course -- "the Lord." One time, I blew my cover and accused them of idiocy. Turns out I'm a commie and a "nigger-lover."

I still can't believe how uninformed some people are, the man with Parkinson's actually has an engineering doctorate from Cornell. @labrat1807 Sure we have problems, the NHS is far from perfect. The point I was making is that it is FAR FAR better than a profit based industry like you have. Check out where the US is in the WHO league tables for healthcare. You're 37th, we're 18th. I don't think those stats settle the argument alone, but taken into account with the basic opposition between "profit incentive" and "political incentive", it is indicative that a socialized system benefits the population more than any other.

@labrat1807 Depends on who you ask there spanky. First off, Canada's own supreme court found that their socialized health system was unconstitutional as it violated Canadian citizens rights in that it allowed for quite a number of patients to die before ever receiving care. As for the NHS, the UK govt has openly admitted that the complaint system itself is so cumbersome that users have no avenue of protest when needed services are declined.
