WWE - Shawn Michaels gets hit by a battery

On March 26, 1998, just 3 days before Wrestlemania XIV, D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna & Mike Tyson) were in the ring cutting a promo for Wrestlemania Weekend.

While plugging Wrestlemania, Shawn Michaels stopped in mid-sentence when he was nailed in the head with a battery thrown by a fan. At the time, Shawn Michaels personal and professional problems were accelerating, and the attack pushed Shawn over the edge as an entertainer. Rather than taunt the fan/audience back or use the moment for heat, Shawn simply dropped the mic and left all of the DX members in the ring, none of which knowing what had just happened to him.

Shawn left the ring for over 6 minutes. While in the back, Michaels and Vince McMahon broke out into an argument, and after Michaels had some-what cooled down, returned to the ring and began taunting the crowd, going as far as mooning the audience.

You can get paralyzed & die from a piledriver yet you can also die from blunt force trauma with acid burns from a thrown battery; especially a D-size battery. Let me throw one at the back of your head at about 90 mph and let me see how you're feeling afterwards. There's a reason why there's warning on batteries that injury and death could occur.

Fuck you Vince. If I got hit in the head with a battery, I would leave too. Your safety is at risk. The fan is lucky Shawn didn't hop over the rail and beat his ass. That was seriously a dickish thing for Vince to say. What if it was him who got hit in the head with a D battery? (That what size that battery was that Shawn got hit with. You have to go frame by frame @ :15 to see the size of that battery. You can even hear it smack his head.)
