Dr friend hamradiofun73, If you think that our colleagues in this video are inexperienced then the best think to do is to advice them rather then to judge them the way you do. In this life, you better be with the ones that try even if they make mistakes rather than with the ones that just watch and judge.
This was a nice qso under difficult conditions. Dear hamradiofun, this hobby is all about enjoyment and fun as your nickname denotes. So instead of judging the ones that do try practice our hobby, please show us your skills so that we might understand which is the correct the way to operate on a mountain top under high wind and without earphones. Maybe the antenna that you constructed is more interesting. Please show it to us.
2. The antenna you see in the video is hand-made and it did the job very well.
3. Yes Turkey and Greece are close when you are at the shore in both countries. But this was between inland Turkey and Athens. The distance between stations is 550km. And there was no tropo or E-sporadic propagation that day.
4. What you consider "panic" is actually excitement between amateurs who manage a 2m QSO over 550km with 2,5W.
Very BAD qso. I saw on video that the height of the mount is very good, but the signal was 5-0 to 5-1, and lot of noise! Turkey is very close, for that noise. Where is the 5-5 my friends? I heard the operators saying that. The 3 element antenna is almost damaged, the reflector is looking the sky!! and the operators not very good. There was panic between them. Learn how to make good antennas and nice qso's my Greek fellows...

This is a very good QSO. Here is why:
1. Both sides were QRP. (4W and 2,5W)
2. The antenna you see in the video is hand-made and it did the job very well.
