You know, I just can't get over how beautiful this vehicle is; so sleek, so aerodynamic, so commanding! She sure flew great. I really hope she's not the last of her kind.

Actually, the paint wasn't bubbling, that was just moisture forming on the rocket's exterior.

The J-2X engine will be firing in a matter of seconds during an actual separation event, and the upper stage attitude controls will be working throughout that period as well. The Ares I-X flight had none of those things.

Can someone explain to me why the upper stage is tumbling like this? It seems that the booster can strike it at one point. This question was asked multiple times on the NASA site, but seems to have been ignored.
I am not against the Constellation program, however I am concerned about the threat of "recontact" after staging when the Ares is actually manned.
I hope the politicians don't kill the program.

Data from the flight test is still being analyzed, so results of all the observations aren't yet available.
That said, the final Ares I vehicle upper stage will be flying under full power of a J-2X engine, as well as having its own attitude control motors, so the post-separation performance will be very different.
