London Mayor Ken Livingstone and former Lib Dem leader Sir Menzies Campbell tells Sky News it is the responsibility of the world to remain vigilant to the worsening situation in Tibet. The political figureheads demand China acts properly to resolve it.

Nice reading that Tibet is now so better off under China. You forget some points.
1) Tibetans never asked for the 'peaceful' liberation.
2) Liberation under Mao caused millions deaths, also own people.
3) Dalai Lama started with reforms, if Tibet was left alone it would develop further in reaction on the global events and the democratic states.
4) even when things didn't change, Tibetans obvious want their leader and independance.
5) China known for abuse (Tibetan) human rights

The feudal society ruled by the Tibetan nobility was nothing more than a Tibetan version of Saudi Arabian society - the Dalai Lama Man-God at the top, the clergy next, & the serfs at the bottom (majority of tibetans). Tibetans have more rights now under Chinese governance than under the Dalai Lama. Anyway, Tibet has been a part of China for 1000 years. If you want china to be out of Tibet, then tell all the europeans to leave America and go back to europe & give the indians their land back.

PEACEFUL? They clashed with Indian Police, Chinese Police, Nepal Police, NYPD, and Aus. Police... during their so called "PEACEFUL" protest. Dalai Lama and his activists are being paid a few million a year by CIA. You guys don't even know what's really happened. Dalai Lama was a slave owner. In a war, those monks are solider, if you join the army be prepared to die anytime. For those people died in Iraq, do you call them parents or terrorist? They have kids too before the war, you know?

It's ironic these self rightous Brits are the same Brits tried and failed to steal land from Tibet when they ruled British India.
And it's also ironic that Tibetan goverment in exile is located in India, the same country tried and failed to steal land from Tibet in 1962.
The biggest irony of all is, the "evil" Chinese were the ones spilled blood but succeeded in defending Tibet against Brits and Indians.

and so that makes it all okay then??? for the chinese government to invade a deeply religious and PEACEFUL nation and murder thousands of buddhist monks in order to expand it's borders!?? do you have any idea how china came into power in the first place?? I went to Tibet, i've seen the ruins of the monestries that the chinese torched and knocked down! it's about time they cut there loses and handed power back to the exiled Tibetan government!!!

Ken, I have always been a supporter of your stances over the years, and you have taken some very unpopular and moral ones, but to hear you talking hear, dismissing the idea of a boycott ecause we all have "chinese goods" in our home is shocking. I have Bruce Springstein albums, but that does not mean I support the murders in Iraq,, I am shocked at you, of course the games should be boycotted, whats a few drug filled races when the human rights of the Tibetan and chinese people are concerned.
