Software is code, language, writing, expression. Here's another way of putting it: "I don't think all mathematics should be free" or "I don't think all knowledge should be free". One day people will look back upon the the short period in human history when software was considered a proprietary thing to be bought as the dark age of information technology where progress was stifled by corporations with monopolies to protect.
