QUESTION FOR THE COMMENTS below .... an itch you must scratch - http://operationitch.wordpress.com/the-hermit-with-davis-fleetwood

1.Have the events of this week changed who you plan to vote for?

2. Neither candidate cares about the details of the bailout any more than it can help or hurt their campaign. Did Obama get played as bad as I think he did this week?

3. Why are the Democrats so eager to lap up whatever Bush throws at them?

4. Whatcha doin this weekend? I got me a family gathering.

3.

  • go light another one up. Obama did good.

  • Pallin? Did you really say PaLLin? I always thought it was pronounced paylin...

  • @akadacky

Not only that, If you look up the electoral count you will find something quite funny. AlGore wouldn't have needed a single vote in Florida, had he not been so arrogant as to not even campaign in his own home state. That's right. If Big Al had won in Tennessee, he would have been president. Even without a single solitary vote in the entire state of Florida.

  • your right on the money

your electoral process is very complicated and should really be disgarded.

but america was never meant to be a democracy..it was meant to be a republic if you dont know the difference you cant see the whols picture clearly.

i am an aussie by the way

  • lol....all i hear when i watch this is laughter in my own head!!!!!!! what a complete idiot. You should be a weatherman. They can't seem to get anything right either.

  • Fake video, right?

  • I wonder how you feel about things now? Do you still have the same perspective on who started deregulation and which changes to the law have financially changed things. Love your efforts, love your open mindedness and hope you keep the faith. Hope you look up and encourage the info from Greg Palast, a forensic economist from North Western, Hope we can be the best through accurage information.

Have you looked at David Court's ideas about economic change.

Hope you have kept the fire!

  • Thousands of votes for Gore disappeared in Florida and many minorities were turned away for made-up "voter irregularities." There has never been absolute consensus on what actually happened in Florida.

Plus, the simple fact is that more people wanted Gore to be president enough to bother going out and voting for him.

  • Bush lost the popular vote in 2000, but won the electoral vote (look up the electoral college). The US President is not elected by a majority of raw votes. This is a common misconception. Bush DID, however, get a majority of the popular votes in the 2004 election (as well as the majority of the electoral votes).

To answer your question, Bush won both times (even after the Florida recount was complete), because what counts isn't the popular vote, but the electoral vote.

  • Just say no to incumbents!
