@pengubaby I am positive it will. It enhances spatial relationship and also fine motor skills of hand muscles that are used infrequently in drawing. I've taken up knitting and hand embroidery . I have plans of taking an Illustration class next. Please come back if you do take on crafts. Would like to hear your feedback.

@pengubaby I think making things in 3 dimensions will definately give you a new way to think about things in 2 dimensions when you draw them.
P.S. check out my channel if you like to make stuff! I can make lots of other stuff than is in my (few) videos, and I can use almost any media to make things.

@herbalwyze bad idea the fumes are toxic

@herbalwyze Yes! You should be able to do this technique on your baked polymer clay pieces. Just apply a coat of the Aleene's Original Tacky Glue to the surface that you want to apply this technique. The only challenge is that you need something to attach your piece to to hold during the burning process. On my rings, I used the ring finding but you still have to be VERY careful when holding so that you do not in any way get close to burning your fingers. Holding with pliers is good! [Tiffany]
can you use Elmer's glue??? thanks!

@doggzydd Well, since our Momma Aleene developed this technique over 40 years ago, we've never tried any other glues :)

I wonder if getting into crafts would help improve my art (I draw people). it'd probably give me great ideas for textures.

@pengubaby - This is a technique that is beautiful on all types of hard surfaces. You should definitely try to incorporate into your artwork!
