An omni wheel robot is a robot which uses mecanum wheels to move around in any direction. Each wheel exists of small rollers which are positioned in een angle of 45° with respect to the wheel axle. During this Hardware-design course, students had to design and build such a robot. Afterwards, SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping) should be implemented. As a result, the robot should be able to navigate through an unknown environment and construct a map which includes the robots position on this map.
