In Loving Memory - Madeleine (Maddie) Dillard

A tribute to Maddie, a seventeen year-old young woman. Maddie, her mother Marian, step-father Don, and Dave her father, are entangled in a struggle of teen independence. All attempts by Maddie's parents to control her, to get her to the point of surrender and obedience seemingly fail. Yet a disturbing memory of violence inflicted by her father on her mother resonate through the story haunting Maddie. The dependence of caretakers on indoctrinated religious leaders and a pompous therapist for structure, leading to solutions, or absolution. A mother's intuition overridden by religious dogma that a woman must cleave unto her husband and submit to the decisions of men usurping those of a mother. Faith, leading to enlightenment, and then descending to fundamentalism, a slip to insanity all lead to dreadful fatal consequences.

i was in FRR with maddie.. she was my best friend there. the most beautiful person you could meet in every regard. i dont even know the true story of what happened to her. all i know is she is gone and it involved a car accident of some sort but ive heard so many different stories but im too scared to ask her family and friends because i know they dont want to talk about it.. i loved maddie like my sister and id love to read your book when youre done.
