I've used Chico Marx's 1930 composition "I'm Daffy Over You" (in "Animal Crackers", 1930) as the basis for a demonstration of some simple fingerpicking using C, G7 and F chords.

The tab, music and chords for the simple theme and all the variations are available from my website:

  • "Sugar in the morning, sugar in the evening, sugar at suppertime." Oh wait...

  • It's very similar isn't it? There's a classical piece which also sounds very similar to Chico's little tune... :-)

  • very nice will :) u have the right hand lessons? or if not are there books to learn the right hand procedure? i understand and agree the left hand is very simple to a intermediate player.. i have no problems with playing these chords and then some. however im at a complete lose with the right hand.. im currantly using a pick and have am working on alternate picking witch has improved alot. now im thinking of finger picking :)

  • If you go to my website (URL top right in the "more info" link, you can download the tab which shows the right hand notes. As far as fingering is concerned, the bass lines are all played with the thumb, and the 1st and 2nd fingers do most of the other work. Try it for size... :-) Will

I once kept this up for 3 days.

  • If you get near a song, play it ;)

  • "When you come near a song, let me know." Thanks for this video!

  • That was like the guitar version of Bob Ross! Very nice to watch (I love Bob Ross). Happy Trees!

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • I have always loved this song. The look on Groucho's face everytime it repeats is priceless.
