  • I've had this bike for almost two years. It's been amazing. I've done over 1000 miles with it and lots of single track, from green to black type trails. I have yet to replace a single component on it. I do wish I had a full suspension bike for when I do more challenging trails, I definitely notice my friends are more confident due to having FS bikes.

  • I thought the hard rock was entry level.

  • @frozenskipper

Specialized doesn't offer any worse braking components on their "pricey" bikes than any other manufacturer at the same price points. They, like most other companies, start offering hydraulic brakes when you get up above the 700-800 pricepoint or so. Give an example of what you're talking about.

  • @opmike343 Even pricy specialized bikes have mechanicals.

  • @frozenskipper

Every bike at this pricepoint will have mechanical brakes. Some may include shitty Tektro Hydraulics, but they tend to perform worse than the Avid mechanics. Specialized, like every other bike on the planet, offers hydraulics on the higher end models.

  • y does specialized incist on mechanical breaks?

  • Yea, I'm getting one asap! I love the navy/black color scheme of the 2010 model!

  • woo that's my bike
