Aye, there's no particular reason to believe that Ann Boleyn is the subject of the song, nor Henry VIII the composer. It probably has its origins in the Elizabethan period, as the style of the song was not introduced to England (from Italy) until her reign. Still, it's an amusing myth.

@shayes3100 What do you think turned down means? And what to do you thing honing comprehension means? you obviously just want to think that the woman is guilty, and ignore everything else. It says right there in the song. She didnt want to be involved at first but you wouldnt know anthing about complicated relationships now would you.

@SpiderxBlue You know these facts, and yet you claim she turned him down. She ended up getting pregnant by him, and marrying him before the divorce was final. Yes,she certainly turned him down. I never said Henry was a good person. Also, I never said anything about her not being the victim when she was murdered. I was referring specifically to her courtship. So along with refining your historical research skills, I'd recommend honing your reading comprehension as well.

@shayes3100 lol your the idiot if you think i didnt know those obvious facts! yeah lets hate on the girl who was being presuded by king henry becuse OBVIOUSLY he isnt the villain here. King Henrey was sociopathic and had delusions of grander which I didn even think could be so outstanding in a king. YOU need to look up YOUR facts. Or just get a soul... He Murdered her, and you are saying that she isn't a victem...it's so sad how history can be so manipulative to some.

my favorite SONG

@SpiderxBlue This is a common myth, backed up by zero scholarly evidence. You understand that Anne Boleyn accepted a marriage proposal from Henry VIII while he was still married, right? And you also understand that Anne Boleyn married Henry before Henry's marriage with Catherine was annulled, right? And you understand they had to marry before the annulment because Anne was pregnant, right? Anne was certainly no victim. Please learn your history before you make these holier than though posts.

Greensleeves was Ann Berlin who was the victem in this senrioe. For your information King Henrey was the slut and the bitch. He was married which is why Berlin turned him down, he was perusing her becuse his wife would not have a son. Who ever is gulliable and brutish enough to makeing these comments needs to gtfo and stfu.
What kind of slut casts a guy of discourteously?
