http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmO-9rR1-JM&fmt=18 for HI QUALITY AUDIO.
I created this version by importing into Audacity and putting it OOP (Out of Phase). This technique usually removes most of the vocals, thereby creating a backing track only. Sometimes the bass is diminished by this process, so I have increased the bass levels after OOPsing it. Please enjoy!

  • hey mozpiano2,how did you put it oop?what is your email?

  • @kellymccartney1 I used Audacity to put it in Out Of Phase (OOP)

  • Can you do this for Bette Midler's early Atlantic recordings too?

  • I could possibly but I don't have any of her material.

  • Just a reminder the lyrics aren't the only piece that has been taken from the song here. Most of the music has been extracted also. This is what is emphasised by using the "Stereo" or "SRS WOW Effect". This piece is laid over the bassline and the adapted backing track music, to add interest and contrast.

  • The most interesting part of this version are at 2,14 where one can actually hear the cut the guys did when they cut the second verse in half and only leaving the second part of it. Magnificient studiowork. No wonder they spendt 17 months recording it.

  • you can hear the vocals. i saw a youtube video where u can cancel out vocals almost completely in certain programs. don't remember much, but it basically comes down to cancelling sound that lies within the frequency range of most vocals. In other words, target the frequency range where most vocals lie. seems like that's what this person did.

  • Anyone else notice that the lyrics are still there just very quite?

  • you can hear it vagely in the backround if you listen carefully

  • There was a 1 thing about this song...Something wrong.A tape loop or something.Loved this and now.Preferred the B-side Thats me.It sounded unfinished and intriguable!
