In addition to being an accomplished animator and painter, Cardone is the Art Director at Blue Sky Studios. Here, he talks about some of the work on their recent hit film "Rio."

Wonderful! What a great team. I was fortunate to meet Tom Cardone at the opening of the show (thank you, Peter DeSeve), and he's one of those rare gems (like Peter) with lots of talent and no apparent ego.

Illustration, figurative work, draftsmanship.... these elements are cohesive with the Golden Era of Illustration.

These are great! Confused as to what it has to do with Rockwell, though.. I went to the Norman Rockwell museum last November - loved it, they had a Jerry Pinckney exhibit there - I could get why his work was there, the styles are similar. But animation? Not seeing a connection.
