@dannycis461 Repositioning flight, they need the aircraft at Atlanta, so they fly it there with passengers. Say, this 777 was used to fly from Tel Aviv to New York, but then this aicraft is needed to fly from Atlanta to Mumbai, so instead of flying it empty to Atlanta, they fly it as a regular flight wit pax. :)

Flt 17 is now Syd-lax-atl, and 16 is the reverse.
They are, however putting a 777 on one dtw-atl flt, it continues to shanghai from dtw

But in a 2-5-2 config only that person in the middle of the 5 has to cross 2 people to get out, everyone else only has to cross one person. In a 3-3-3 both the people at the window seats have to cross 2 people to get out. Therefore 2-5-2 is technically better.
