(continued) Kaine said, "no, not even then". Fears were that if Kaine were elected to governor, he'd seek abolition of the death penalty. Also, Kaine briefly represented one of the two thugs who killed Stan's son and daughter in law (and one totally innocent person in a parking lot carjacking).

I know the speaker in this ad, Stan Rosenbluth. He has accomplished a lot for victims of crime in Virginia over the years. What happened here was he came to do an ad to support Jerry Kilgore, who was then the attorney general.
The ad consultant gave Stanley a script suggesting that he respond to then recently made media quotes that Tim Kaine made about the death penalty. A reporter asked Kaine, who opposes it, "wouldn't you personally support it for anyone, say Idi Amin or Hitler". Ka
