So true. James and Jackie did it before Michael but the difference between Michael and all these new "kids" is that in Michael did it in a way that demonstrated influence rather than copying/lifiting. The way Michael did it was groundbreaking. It's like how Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger came before Bob Dylan but Dylan raised the bar by making music influenced by, not ripped from, his precedessors. Everything done today by these corporate acts is neither original or bar-raising. It's laziness.
