A fleeting, almost subliminal example of the smash-zoom technique in Joseph Losey's "Accident" (1967). Smash zoom (= zooming-in + tracking-out, or vice versa) was pioneered by Hitchcock in "Vertigo" (1958).

  • Nice small video. Fell asleep on the entire movie on TCM the other night. Hopefully, they will show this again in the future, otherwise, I'll buy this on DVD. Jacqueline Sessard looks preppy and beautiful. Love the knee socks.

  • Kind of a curio, I guess. The only thing I liked about Vertigo is the fine narrative structure. Visually I thought it was a bit of a hodgepodge.

  • Great example, thanks.
