La Perla, San Juan, Puerto Rico is a closed community of squatters who have obtained property rights by the fact that they were there so long they can no longer be 'legally' evicted. Donald Trump's hope is to eventually drive the residents out one by one as their homes become declared "unlivable," in order to construct hotels and casinos.
With the government's aid and assistance, authorities have been conducting raids, turning off electricity, as well as the water supply in order forcefully vacate the citizens of La Perla. This video is a natives testimony in regards to Donald Trump's vision of the "Walkable City" and it's current effects on the lives of those who live there.
@gstringdropper Fuck Donald Trump! I'm tired of THIRSTY ASS suit wearing motherfuckers, coming into my Island and doing what they want for their there own benefit. Fuck U.S. , Puerto Rico Statehood supporters, who just want our Island for thier own selfish benefits, and try to skew it and make it look like they really want to help us out. But than kill and threaten, and incarcerate our independence leaders.

Sad to see what is happening to La Perla. When I lived in PR I always thought that someone might try to kick out the La Perla citizens for tourist resorts, hotels and casinos for the rich. LaPerla is prime real estate and I know someone has had their eye on it for a long time and want to demonize La Perlaas the problem for the whole Island. Sure it has problems but what city doesnt? Evil is what they're doing, and I hope the people of La Perla dont allow the modern day pilgrims take their land!

La Perla is not a community of squatters.
It is a community of families.
I live in La Perla, And am a working student.
There are plenty of nice homes in my community. I have one, but unfortunately everything that I had worked hard for was taken when the local police burst in at 5am, taking any money / valuables they could find and breaking everything from the computer to the light bulbs.
