This is a song written by one of my high school teachers, Ed Power. I promised Ed I'd get this one on here, so... here it is!! :) It's a song about my home province of Newfoundland and Labrador! Hope you like it Ed!!

Our Newfoundland Home

Where the Atlantic meets our coast line on our rugged western shore,
You can always find a welcome to Newfoundland and Labrador;
Where the Beothuck and the Mi'kmaw roamed and the famous Badger Drive
Is sung around the campfire as we keep our dreams alive.

The majestic moose in abundance in the stands of spruce and fir,
Crossing streams and rivers, causing wild ducks to stir;
And the beauty of those valleys where the lakes and ponds do lie,
And the setting of the summer sun as it reddens the evening sky.

So come on here to Newfoundland to see our island home,
And on to mighty Labrador where caribou herds do roam;
Where fishing is a way of life upon the rolling sea,
And amidst the warmth and friendliness there's hospitality.

Where the people warmly greet you, a lesson you will learn,
Though they give you everything they have they take nothing in return;
But they treasure all those memories of yesteryears gone by,
And they welcome you back here again with that twinkle in their eye.

actually my dad "Nish Paul from badger wrote this song together about his growing up in badger nfld. Hat's off to you ed for this song... I have the tape. my dad played the accordian on the cut a well.
