A truckers tale with tear filled lyrics.
Done also by Red Sovine-
Curious about the name it is mentioned @ 1:10-
***NOT RECOMMENDING HITCHHIKING***

A great tune and the gestures towards the end restores faith in the better side of mankind.

  • Argh! I love this... song i guess, but i hate listening to it around other people cuz it makes me want to cry hearing the part about him swerving to miss the kids!!!

  • Funny to think that not so long ago, a man weighing 210 lbs. would get a nickname like "Big Joe" (I'm assuming he was tall, too). Now there are middle school kids who weigh that much, and an adult male weighing that doesn't get a second glance in the US. Sad state of affairs! Love this song, had only heard Sovine's version til now. I think Red and Ferlin were reading from each other's playbooks, their styles overlap quite a bit.

  • I enjoyed the song!
