Wasn't the cutoff 6/12/09? How did they continue until June 26th?

Don't know you Earnest, or Richard, but I found your video very fitting and well done. Very much enjoyed it, and even got a little misty. Thanks for sharing with us.

it weirdly wants to make u cry. so many events happened on analog like an on the moon and the assassination of Kennedy, its just sad to see it go

the sound notification at 2:28 is super excellent i love it !, sweet and excellent like pepsi ! :)
-
what a emotive thing at 2:22 you clean your tears with your hand isn't ? ohhh and finally with you turn off the background power lines ! :) , the most i love of this video is just yourself alone with nobody else telling you what to do ! you are a 100% master and cool ! take care !

Living in New Zealand we are still on analog tv and we are not switching for at least another 3 years!

"Not with a bang, but with a whimper..."

I agree, very touching. The moment Earnest turned off the analog transmitter, I felt as if a baton had been passed. In a way, it was a profound statement and a salute to the many years of analog broadcasting. It was almost as if we were witnessing the passing of an old friend.

Earnest John here that was a great video and very touching that you dedicated it to Richard.

earnest, merritt here (of the south fla. fm association and WRGP)... very very touching, I almost shed a tear watching you stand there in silence after you shut it down... i knew you were thinking of richard when you pushed the button, and then when i saw the dedicated to richard van hook text at the end, i knew for sure. thanks for showing this, wish i could have been there, but it looks like it was best done with quiet solitude.
Great stuff. Thanks for posting this & part 1.

Thank you. It was my pleasure. I figured there were a lot of "techies" like myself that what like to see this historic event.

I love that "shut down" sound the transmitter made when you shut it off. Like, all the fans turning off and electrodes shutting down. Probably a lot more quiet in that room now that there is one less transmitter in operation.

Your exactly right! Also, one hour after I turned it off the temperature in the room went from 77 degrees to 59 degrees!! I had to turn the AC to nearly off.
