This was the opening theme of the 1984 All Star Game on ABC from Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California. The announcer is the inimitable one, Howard Cosell.

  • @GBev2K - actually after 1971 more and more Series games were scheduled at night, when television audiences were larger.

  • @DukeofColumbia Yes I think he died a car accident not too long after that

  • and it's during the day too! i remember those days, good stuff

  • There's just never been another figure in sports quite like Howard Cosell.

  • didn't Carl Hubbel throw out the first pitch at this ASG?

  • Nice! The things I remember the most from this one was Huey Lewis and the News National Anthem (at their peak of popularity) and how Gooden and Fernando struck out 6 straight AL hitters.

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of ABC Sports' Major League Baseball All-Star Game 1984 Video Open From Tuesday Night, July 10, 1984.

  • howie cosell FTW :D

  • Howard Cosell's voice can just never be imitated. It's just never forgettable. It's that good.
