The belief that this ritual attracts chaos or malevolent deities is pretty false.
The intention behind the formula is to "clear the air" or "establish a working space". Of course it goes deeper than that, symbolically.
Essentially it clears away the "negative" energies to allow the magician to begin his work.
As to its relationship to "transcendence", well, you have to build a foundation/skeleton before you construct a skyscraper...

This technology is not an innocuous. Implementing these "meditations" properly requires extensive training to cultivate proper intention. One needs to align one's perception in complete oneness through intense altruism. Otherwise, the individual will certainly attract "dark" and base energies.
t is like leaving refined uranium in public. To use it productively, one needs protection, skill and experience. Otherwise, it is gross negligence, and you are simply condemning the ignorant to harm.

Paul uses the standard Golden Dawn correspondances of the elements to the directions (watch it again, toermer):
East - Air element
South - Fire element
West - Water element
North - Earth element.
Some other traditions align the elements differently and they may have their own validity, but I do know from personal experience that these attributions definitely work.

I don't think it's as much about a pentagram, as much as it is about the Upright Pentagram. The pentagram pointing downward signifies bondage to material, guided by darkness. The Upright Pentagram is the being guided by Spirit. This is something you definately want to 'declare' to the universe. This is a focused way to do that. Daemons do not appreciate this fire and are scared by it. This is the purpose of projecting it to the end of the universe. Pusing back with your shield.

what is the point of a pentagram? what does this symbol do for you?

This is helpful. But the image about 'projecting to the end of the universe' doesn't quite fit with me because my world is circular and it just comes and around and slaps me on the back! Ha Ha.. Thanks anyway.

i learned, that east would stand for the air and west for water... this video says the opposite

This ritual is rooted in projecting individual ego with the aim of personal domination and is not an effective means of obtaining spiritual transcendence, growth and altruistic healing by maintaining connectivity to "ALL".
These rituals mislead mankind to further pursue the path of spiritual illumination through the path of suffering and actualized chaos.

Well, I agree in part, from the point of self it is so. Misleading, I guess it would depend on what the idea behind publish such material. Does a broom miss lead the user? I guess it deepens on whether one sweeps with it or jumps of the roof in a misguided attempt the fly. If one seeks the philosophic idea behind such the hold dynamic changes. From this point it is no longer a vehicle that may be used to avoid but simple a kind of broom. There is much more that could be said here. characters nil
