TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- After the conclusion of registrations for 3M ( mmm) candidates in the January 14 legislative elections, the ruling Kuomintang said Saturday it would hold on to its absolute majority despite divisions.
The registration on Thursday by People First Party Chairman James Soong for the presidential election held on the same day signaled the official split of the pan-blue camp. In addition to running for president, Soong has also encouraged the nomination of legislative candidates from the PFP.
