what's unreal gold? an improvement of original unreal tournament, like 2004 is one of 2003?

Im not fairly sure what the difference is but im sure it better than unreal.

However i do know the installation disc has all the latest patches included ready to play online but it may also consist of other things that i dont know about.

Yes mate i would have to agree with everything you just said in your comment.

However i to think unreal gold is a top game but unfortunately i can seem to run it on vista very well despite playing it on a high performance gaming laptop.

Oh sorry.

Yes the bots are included in th game and no further downloads are required.

To play against the bots you can create and type of game or gametype and select up to 16 bots in the majority of maps.

Some smaller maps may only allow 8 to 10 bots.
