Those little fences were made to keep the people off the track, not to keep the cars out of the stands.
Thank god safety has improved a lot since then.

Such a sad race. If I had lived back then I would been so insanely happy that Hill won the championship because I'm American and a big F1 fan (shocking I know). But I would have been so sad over Von Tripps's death
-
At 19 sec you can see his body
-
like G.Villeneuve, Ronnie peterson and Moss, Wolfgang is a Champion without a crown.
-
besides graham hill is an englishman not an american
-
@RTBaLLa i know it.
-
@MonacoLager1 Phil Hill was a occassional champion with the von trips die
-
He could have won the world championship... But i guess he would have prefered to live instead and fight for it year after year...
R.I.P :(
-
worse was le mans in 1955. Levegh crashed and his engine, gearbox assembly and rear axle flew into the crowd @ 150 mph, killing 79 people.
-
no wonder you've got (-9) thumbs down, because youre an idiot. have some respect for those who died, so go hate somewhere else you dipshit indy500 yank.
-

Sorry Bealzbob but you're wrong , first mortal accident in F1 World Championship was the one involving Chet Miller on may 15th 1953 at Indy's 500 miles, race valid for the
F1 championship .

This comment has received too many negative votes show
if hill was a decent man he should have let him win out of respect like the other hill for rindt placing in certain positions to ensure rindts posthomous chmapionship
f1 is liitered with fatal crashes many of which denied future world champions winnin the champ:(
