Queueing for an Indian Visa

This is the Queue outside the India House on Aldwych this morning. I arrived around 5:45am and this was the queue at about 8:50 once things had started moving.

hah yeah - and I took that video after I had left the office - i.e. when the queue was already moving. Before that it was even worse :)

Good to hear about the postal applications. I think I might be going out there again in the next 12 months..

The people in the starting point in the Q must have been there since 5 am or earlier n those in the end must have joined after 8am,

I know. been there several times.

the situation to other Embassies is pretty much the same

e.g. French, Portugese etc

Most places Q starts from early morning

As for Indian Embassy or IHC shown in the clip, there would be no such Qs now

as the visa section is now outsourced.

Only Emergency VISAs granted here now.

Open during weekends and holidays aswell

I think they are all stupids to stand like that in line. Except for business visas they should never stand like that for Tourist or Visitor visas.

First thing its dirty and filthy everywhere. Communicable diseases like TB, Malaria, Typhoid etc and corruption, terrorism. Even needles dont work. Above all careless and irresponsible administration. Mosquitos in international airports in Mumbai and New delhi. WHat a shame??

it is the only way to control immigration from and to India. British try new things to fix that.

I watched them slam doors in peoples faces, tear visa forms up in front of applicants. Appalling service and behaviour, makes one wonder what sort of quality the postal service applications will be. Nevermind, atleast you won't have to suffer there personal service anymore.

It's nuts, isn't it? I jumped through all those hoops in Sept...

Apparently, they've started accepting postal applications again - so it should be getting better.
