Ive been there and never knew a boat sank there. Very sad to see a new boat sink

@realbudgiesmuggler I can tell you are no sailor. Going into the shore is the last thing you want to do with a boat. It is proverbial that it's not the sea which is dangerous; it's the hard things all around it. This vessel seems to have dragged its anchor until it went so closely ashore it was in the surf. That's where the water is so shallow the waves break. The breaking waves lifted the boat up and down until the keel struck the bottom and the bottom ripped out . That's when she sank.

I ain't no sailor but even I would of steered the pointy end towards the shore , must be an insurance job, Check the crew out they carn't believe their luck they are alive, guess they will use the insurance to buy a motor home and go hand feed Grisly bears next.

I think they tried to anchor. The family that took these pics and are in them on the beach are wonderful people that just happened to live on this beach. They just witnessed it happening, filmed it and called authorities.
