Three year old cock with spring 08 pullets. The red band pullet is sister to the rooster. The yellow band pullet is their neice. She is from a brother sister mating related to the cock in the pen.
@skaterdiehgf Sometimes. Sometimes roosters need a little extra to keep them filled out and their weights right. It depends from rooster to rooster and breed to breed and environmental factors such as what you feed. I have one rooster who is really hard to keep weight on while most of the others are pretty good on just the lay pellets. Ask your feed dealer (or online dealer) what you may want to use for your specific case.

My chickens lay eggs when it's cooler, usually in the fall around September-October and a few in spring.
