Not exactly Jeffersonian, is he? Keep in mind Ron Paul's tip: price of gold and price of oil, parallel lines, fiat-money and price of oil, a roller coaster (fasten your paper-belts).

HIGHLIGHTS

- Ratio of energy available and growth in population... an imbalance between supply and demand [and a debased currency].

- Peak of oil production and compound interest. The U.S. has 2% of the known reserves of oil in the world and uses a fourth [25%] of the world's oil. China is buying up oil reserves wherever they can find them.

- The Hirsch Report by SAIC: The world has never faced a problem like this [Psycho screeching violins].

- Alternatives. Nuclear. Solar and wind energy. Wood. Conventional hydro. Alcohol fuel. The hydrogen economy and the corn ethanol bubble. Geothermal. The tar sands in Canada. The tides. Oil shales. Coal. Breeder reactors. Nuclear fusion. Biomass.

- The Drive Act [will make things worse]. Can't get no satisfaction.

SIDE NOTE: $42 a gallon

"Last year alone, the American forces in Iraq burned through more than 1.1 billion gallons of fuel... A study produced by the U.S. Military Academy estimated that delivering one gallon of fuel to U.S. soldiers in Iraq cost American taxpayers $42 -- and that doesn't include the costs of the fuel itself... the U.S. is spending $923 million per week on fuel-related logistics in Iraq."

  • That's not stricly true. There have been very promising results recently with photosynthetic bacteria capable of splitting water into Hydrogen and Oxygen requiring nothing more than sunlight and some very basic nutrients. He also failed to mention the exceptional breakthroughs recently with solid magnet motors capable of supplying 24kw per day...more than enough to supply an average house and excess to sell back into the grid. There are options...he's behind the cutting edge.

  • Naughtyjug,

You are absolutely right, even if the tech is not ready for prime time, and even if it proves another broken hope, Bartlett failed to mention PERENDEV 's magnetic motor, he did mention nuclear fusion... THANKS for the tip!

  • Your vid is a favorite on New Zealand

  • This is one very "gratis" video. =p

  • @Naughtyjug It take 30 years to change the economic infraestructure. Yes alternatives, inovation and new discoveries help. But we have to abandon the infinite growth paradigm.

  • Yeah, nuclear is the way, change from oil to nuclear today, build 10000 of the biggest plant ever and all known resources will be used within 10 years, and then i don't include the growth we need...

There is only ONE WAY, that is renewable! Vind, water, solar etc, and we need to really investe in it heavy!

  • Spent nuclear rods are only 3-4% used up. There are new methods to reuse these and get at least 10 times the use out of the same rod. Because of this our current supply is enough for about 1000 years at the current usage, so even if our usage was 10 fold more we still have plenty.

The newest nuclear plants use Thorium instead of Uranium. It is plentiful, easier to recycle and has the added benefit of not being able to be converted to nuclear weapons.

  • THis is awesome. HE is great!! We should show this to everyone.

  • yeah ive had my eye on magnetic motors , but i was of the opinion that it was still to be proven to work , ie no PROVEN working proto type

  • cutting edge means it isnt commercially viable yet , so why mention something that the average person or vast majority of people cant actually purchase
