  • Hi, I was wondering if I can use anything with a pointy tip to write/sketch in pen mode, for example a pointed finger nail?

  • @rkrsnan1984 no, the pen that comes with it is a special wacom screen pen, it will follow the pen tip even if the tip isn't touching- if it's close to the screen. and then there's capacitive touch, like the ipad- you can touch the screen with your finger and it will respond but not your nail. when you use the pen, the capacitive shuts off so you can rest your hand on the screen while drawing with the pen. and when the pen is away from the screen, capacitive turns on again so you can touch it.

  • Thanks for the reply. I just checked in the asus site and they say T101 is resistive(no mention of wacom) and not capacitive as you said .In one of the comments below you say "it's using a multi-touch algorithm to decipher the stylus tip from the palm of your hand resting on the screen". I guess if it is using wacom any algorithm to differentiate wacom from touch input will be unnecessary .I am confused. Please clarify.

  • @rkrsnan1984 sorry i was confused by which product we were talking about- at that time i also demo'd an HP TM2. the HP is a wacom screen with capacitive touch. the Asus T101 is not, as you've found- what I mentioned before about the T101 using a multitouch algorithm is when you rest your palm on the screen and draw with the pen, it sees a lot of points. it'll then focus on the most isolated point (being your stylus) and ignore everything else (your palm). in practice tho, it's not super accurate

  • @rkrsnan1984 so correcting myself, yes, you can use any tip you want- even your fingernail since the T101 relies on pressure sensitivity

  • You seem to know some stuff about tablet pc's...

I want a Tablet PC that performs well and has Wacom feel built it. Such as TM2... Should I go for the TM2 or something else? I use Photoshop and sometimes I find it fun to try out a small game or so on it when traveling.

  • @jimmarn the TM2 is a great all around performance computer, I use photoshop on it all the time but with the conventional mouse controls. For the wacom screen I usually use it for Flash or Sketchbook- and the TM2 can definitely play most steam games like counterstrike source, team fortress2

  • @jimmarn i want to know is it better to get TM2 or a tablet like Samsung Galexy tab 2 or what .... thanks in advance :)

  • The pen pressure works fine in Sketchbook, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the pen pressure to work in Paint Tool Sai? My ASUS T101 came with Windows Pro, and has the Pen Write already installed. Not sure if any updates are available for the driver.

  • Does this tablet work well with Onenote? And do you need to upgrade to home premium to do drawings?

  • @rkrsnan1984

hi can i have a link to download asus penwrite driver thxs
