It sounds like their voices are higher pitched and the music seems faster. I mean, it's not like Alvin and the Chipmunks sped up, but it does sound faster.

Yes, it sounds faster because it is faster - by 5.67% to be exact. Before the advent of CDs, clips were made using tape machines to do the miming - and unless they were regularly calibrated, these tape machines often ran at the wrong speed. These days clip directors work off CDs and the speed is almost always exact.
