if he can he could, there's no reason or explanation why he can defeat ssj4 actually and also guess what if you watched that episode goku vegeta said his name and said goku is stronger than him and goku said i guess, well when i was fresh i could have finish kid buu off, goku still said he let the fight drag on so vegeta could take a shot to kill him :D
