  • To make a decent amount of blend shapes you need to duplicate the mesh like 16 times or more. The scene will take forever to load/save, is there anything to do about it? =/

  • @mimikawaii7386 Heya. There is one other option. You make all the blendShapes and you save them in a separate scene. Then you open the rig and add these blendShapes scene as reference. This way if you want to change some expression you just open the blendShapes scene, fix the target and then just open the rig scene and the fixed target will get updated automatically :)

honestly i am keeping the targets in the scene most of the time, and they get's pretty big yes :\

  • nice rig. :) What did you use to create those little blue spheres? I want to make controllersl ike that too :O

  • @Kiyamlol

What do you mean by "What did i use"? I haven't used a script or plug-in if that's what you asked... It's just a setUp made by me in Maya... It's little bit complex and i can't explain it here...

  • @instruct9r Sorry, i didnt say if u used a script for this I meant what did u use to make the cluster controls? like nurbs polygons etc.

  • @Kiyamlol

Ah.. the controls are nurbs spheres with detached shading node so they don't be visible in the rendering. Then colored with the wireframe color.

    cheers

  • @instruct9r Ah, I see, thanks. I deleted them due to scene taking 1 minute to load but I'll do as you said from now on. Another question if I may, what did you use for the mouth? It's so flexible it looks like clusters to me, but you say it's only blendshapes?

  • @instruct9r thank you :)

its a really nice rig, especially like how the skin reacts to the nasolabial crease and mouth.

  • tutorial plz!!

  • @instruct9r Why not do it for free, right here on youtube :P
