How a Pedal Harp Works

My new obsession: Harp! Here I point out some interesting things about pedal harps, how they work, etc. I'm renting this one from Michigan Harp Center. It's a Lyon & Healy - Style 15.

I started playing harp a month ago. Currently it's all I practice. I'll be posting videos periodically, just because I'm recording them anyway so I can improve as a player.

@pipdjs I figure it's inevitable, but not for awhile. Maybe years.  Maybe I should play Expert Drum parts with it :-P

How would you play a chromatic run on this harp? (or any song which has some non-diatonic notes?)

@bobfresco I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that you'd have to be pretty nimble with your feet, to time the pedal switching just right. But I think in general, it's impossible to play any "fast" chromatic stuff. Oh, unless you tune your strings all funny.
