  • how do you like the 756 pro II?

  • The DSP is always running, no? I've tried every possible filter and NR setting, but I still hear the artifacts (pops, clicks, etc.) on CW. I've heard other Pro3 owners (CW enthusiasts) say the same thing about the Pro3 over the years. Icom has not been able to rid it of discernable CW artifacts. When you receive CW on SSB, you don't hear them!

  • If you're running the DSP then there can be sound artifacts introduced into the audio. If the noise is present without DSP then you might want to look for an external noise source or change power supplies to see if that clears it up.

  • As for settings on my rig:

    WIDE(L)=100 WIDE(H)=2900

    MID(L)=300 MID(H)=2700

    NAR(L)=500 NAR(H)=2500

You can set it anywhere you'd like but that's how mine is set. I normally use WIDE or MID and always use compression with my Heil PR-20 mic.

  • Those three settings WIDE, MID, and NAR set your transmit bandwidth. The COMP just means the speech compressor is enabled.

  • Are the 'snaps, pops, and crackles' on CW receive normal? Never heard these on my older analog rigs.

  • Thank you!!! What about SSB settings, 'comp wide', 'comp mid', or 'comp nar'? What is the difference?

  • You get the red line by turning on the XMIT MARKER.

  • boo

  • Nice video! Just got my Pro3. How do you get the band scope center line red (or any different color) like you have, for more visibility? Also, what is the best setting for normal SSB - 'comp on wide', 'comp on mid', or 'comp on nar'? Thank you in advance!
