We are applying an orientation coat, which is a clear base in this case. More specifially BASF's BC100 by Rm. This will fill in minor scratches from our preparation and give our metallic paint a smoother surface to land on. This can make blending much easier. This is comparible to a wet bed for waterborne paint.
