Earthship recon crew in Haiti: June 30 - July 5, 2010. Thanks to everyone who helped provide information, connections, advice and donations for the Earthship Biotecture recon visit to Haiti. As it turned out it was much more than a recon visit... we built a building with the help of forty Haitians from the tent camps - ages four to fifty.

  • @Aroddo There are an estimated 4 billion used tyres in the world and more every day filling landfills and being burnt... Each one took ~7 gallons of crude oil to produce... Seems like a pretty dependable resource to me. The energy's already gone into producing them and they are a factor of our environment whether we like it or not. The independence comes from not having to manufacture or grow new materials to create these houses. Garbage Warrior Styles!

  • Earthship communities are the future... Thank you for bringing this to the people of the world.*****

  • Surely after all his world wide efforts , Michael Reynolds deserves a Nobel Peace Prize ? Oh no lets award one to Obama for bringing death & destruction to countless thousands of human beings around the world .

    .

  • at the second, old tires will have any value, this programe will collaps.

  • @Aroddo I notice trolls never have anything positive to say about anything they think is good.

  • @vision528 Japan could really use your help right now.

  • I am a carpenter and construction worker who is sitting here unemployed and aching to go help. All I want is some food and a dry place to sleep. I am also one who feels they are in the middle of the herd that is running off of a cliff and I don't want to go. Michael Reynolds has incorporated all the the things that I have considered great ideas for years in one plan. Earthships. I am going to keep track of them and might even just drive to Taos sometime soon to check it out.

  • Bravo! Keep us up to date. Invite people to go with you. Many would love to help and spread your solution to many who need it. I'd love to see a follow up film like in the andaman islands.
