Square One is the solo project from Manchester based producer Mark Wadsworth. Mark has been recording for Freerange for the past 3 years with Yennah and Super Basic, but the Square One project is Mark going it alone.

The Square One sound is a mixed bag. The main idea is to use deep house production techniques along side real musicians to create a blend of musical pieces to listen to both at home as well as on the dance floor. Home music if you like!?

The first Square One EP showcases Mark's production and writing techniques with 'Jumpstart' opting for a European deep house flavour with synchopated Rhodes lines and bubbling synths. The flip side New worlds is a hyrbrid of broken beats, sub bass, Jazz flute and housey sounds, a track which went down well with the likes of LTJ Bukem and Mix Master Morris.

Mark is currently in the studio putting together an Album which will see his diverse musical tastes come to the fore. Enlisting local musicians form the Manchester house and Jazz scene as well as classical strings, the album promises to break boundaries!

As well as producing for Freerange, Mark has also released records on Sheffield's house imprint Toko, Miguel Miggs' Transport label as well as Nordic Trax, Low Pressings and After Hours.
