Body Music: Lawrence Academy of Music

The first ever body music class at Lawrence Academy of Music's summer music camp! This performance is the culmination of five days of classes. The students were introduced to a variety of styles of body music, shown many videos of performances, and became comfortable using their own bodies as an instrument.

This performance is a song that the students composed in the last two days of class, using exercises and licks that they had learned in the first three classes.

This was great! I know those kids learned this during 5 days of camp, and it looks like they really had fun. We enjoyed watching them perform! I hope Lawrence adds an outreach program so more kids have a similar opportunity. I would like to see a workshop for this type of performing arts. Thanks for posting!
