LED Pong Clock.

This project uses the classic video game pong to tell the time. The 2 players are controlled automatically to win / lose so their scores show the hours and minutes.. The clock has a few other modes, like showing the time written in words.

You can see how to make one here: http://123led.wordpress.com/about/

Geeky details: the LED panels are from Sure Electronics (Model 2416). They are driven by an Arduino, and a battery backed DS1307 clock chip keeps time. I got all the bits on eBay for about £60.

  • just so you know, it's spelled forty not fourty, it's very illogical I know... but that's just the way it is...

  • @Slench101 Thanks I know... it's now spelt right in the code for people to download!

  • ur mins take a bit too long

  • @mclmatty yeah it's a bug when you come out the menu routine. The display isn't updated to match the clock time from the DS1307. I'll fix it when I have a mo.

  • Wow nice! But looks like the boards dont line up that nicely?

  • @Intosia they are just balanced on the shelf for this demo, you could attach them together properly and then they would line up ok.

  • When you were zoomed in, I thought it was one of those big stadium things... Ha

  • dear santa....

  • Idea is brilliant. this is very creative, good job. But when I think about it there can be enough with only 2 animations: one of them will repeat 60 times (one board loses 60 times in a row), and the second will be launched once after that (+1 hour). But idea is really good.
