The American College of History and Legal Studies invites you into an ACHLS Harkness discussion method history class. Taught by Pulitzer nominated historian and ACHLS founding Dean, Michael Chesson, these five minutes showcase the classroom discussion of Leslie Howard Owens' This Species of Property, Slave Life and Culture in the Old South. There are no lectures at ACHLS. All classes are taught by the discussion method and all students actively participate. ACHLS' curriculum is designed to improve a students reading, writing, critical thinking and speaking skills, all skills important to any field you wish to enter.
ACHLS is a senior completion college located in Salem, New Hampshire. It offers only the junior and senior years of college and grants a BA Degree. It was created by The Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, Massachusetts. An ACHLS education will prepare you to compete in any field you wish, and is the ultimate in pre-law studies for students who wish to go on to law school.
