@Japan365 thanks so much for the insight. ahaha don't worry about it being 'long winded.' it's teaching me alot that i never knew, so i really appreciate it. :] i'm glad to know i might be able to shop for clothes and things [that actually fit] once i get there :D i don't mind people staring or talking about me, i'm totally used to it. but i know that japanese people tend to be more polite, so i'm sure everything will be okay. ^^
thanks again soo much! i look forward to your future videos. ^^

thanks for sharing this! I found it really helpful. ^^
I do have a question, though:
what is it like being a bigger girl living in japan?
I'm wondering because I'm also a little bigger than most, and I know I won't be able to find clothes there that fit me properly, but I want to know what it's like other than that. like, are you treated differently, etc?
if you wouldn't mind :]

@obsessedfobfan92 It's not really a big deal being overweight the way that we are led to believe as foreigners. Clothes DO exist that will fit you, even if you are larger than I am. You wont be able to find them everywhere, just like in the states, only certain stores carry extended sizes, but they do exist. Also- overweight Japanese are not as rare as you probably think. I came here thinking I would be some huge oddity... but on every trip to the grocery store I see multiple individuals ...

@Japan365 (cont) ... larger than I am.
You WILL be stared at however. NOT because you are overweight, but because you are foreign. Everyday, every student here is stared at almost all day long. Also, you will be talked about... and pointed at... and laughed at. Every day. This is for several cultural reasons, but there is nothing you can do to detour it... so learn to accept it.
The only people to have made comments about my size here have been older individuals and they genuinely didn't...

@obsessedfobfan92 (cont... again) ... think that they were being offensive.
I had a gentleman at a hostel tell me that he thought one of his rooms would be too small for me, and that I needed a larger room. But he was actually trying to be helpful- and really did believe that I would need more space.
I had a couple of older women mention that I had big boobs. Comments like these are totally acceptable- especially for the elderly.
I'm sorry for the long winded response~
