i think he is just plain horrible - may be a bad night, or god knows... they have all sorts in Met (Netrebko, Dessay, Alagna... and i thought we are bad here in Sydney) - i wonder what does a Lucia do when an Eduardo sings shockingly, do you just squeeze you teeth and endure (obviously that's what Damrau did) , or do you say "i'd like to sing with a tenor whose sound does not annoy a shit out of me"...?

I saw her at this performance last night. Both principals pictured here were MAGNIFICENT. Damrau was totally comfortable and secure with every note. I read some other comments that her voice was too fluttery for Lucia...bullshit. She was superb, and the audience let her know how good she was!
