  • Few viable embryos exist after IVF, it works only 1/3 of the time & all the embryos are used in attempts. Abt. 90% stored are for future family building. According to the '400,000' study, the parents consented abt. 11,000 for research which could yield 275 stem cells. Most tossed are 'naturally dead' and Bush order EO 13435 to fund those because Pelosi wouldn't bring to a vote. Read facts not blogs.

  • PeLousy puts politics before patients. To keep the issue, she refused to bring the stem cell bill to fund what the leaders in the stem cell & cloning industry call the future of stem cell research. Human embryonic stem cell research will soon be a footnote in history says the man who first man to isolate them and then ended the field by creating human iPS. 85% of T1 & T2 diabetics in remission w/own stem cells, btw, and iPS will help identify how to reach the last 15%

  • Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Why do people praise a War Criminal? She still funds a criminal enterprise like Iraq yet says discussions of Impeaching the original crime lords is off the table. She can stop funding the war just as EASILY.

    Call - (202) 225-4965

Ware her down with your VOICE. Tell her you know the TRUTH and aren't buying her bullshit anymore. Call her the War Criminal she is!

  • We put some videos discussing the science behind using stem cells to treat diabetes. You may find them interesting. They are on the Cellmedicine channel.

  • Thanks for the tip. ESTR wasn't around until Bush was, so of course he gave more money (to the limited 50 cell lines) than Clinton. Snow reveals that it's an ethics/religion issue, not a scientific one.

  • jas - Do me a favor and go to "Tony Snow on Embryonic Stem Cell Veto"...Here on YouTube.

You too need to go and read the entire Dickey Amendment, post roe v wade. You may have some enlightment as to where all this started.

  • I'm glad California is pursuing the ESCR! Yay! Bush is not allowing this research (haven't you been reading the news?) Nice to see non-scientists trying to decide where research money doesn't go. *sarcasm*

  • jas - Take a look at California and how much money the politicians want to put toward ESCR.

Do have one question...Isn't President Bush the first and only president to allow this research? As for the tumor growth, you best do more research. As for stem cell successes, ASC have produced over 70 successful proceedures. How many successful proceedures has ESC produced, through-out the entire world?

  • Yes, I did. It's limited to 500 characters, so look through the comments and you'll find the answer.

    You didn't answer my question.

I'm so glad Missouri voted for the stem cell research. Missourians know what they want!

  • jas - This may be difficult for you, but,,,If you want to talk about how ESC's react, we can do that. But ESCR hasn't, isn't and won't work the way many researchers want it to. If you want to discuss the next step, we can.
