In French (with English Subtitles) Film Festival 2009 promo video

The idea behind this festival is to create a new kind of fundraising, a friendly gathering around French cinema to benefit Entraide Française and to raise its awareness amongst the community.

Entraide Française is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to assist French nationals families who are facing sudden and temporary financial difficulties and are either residing in or visiting the tri state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).

The aim is to intervene quickly to prevent the worsening of the situation through both financial and psychological support with individualized solutions.
In 2008, Entraide Française helped more than 90 families in enabling them to return to their home country, covering medical expenses, rent, repatriation fees or school tuitions.

In December, 2009, In French with English subtitles presented nine films, all very recent productions and new releases. All films were New York Premières, some were US Premières, others were International Premières!

For the first time, through the medium of cinema, this even acted as a fundraisng event in which all the proceeds went directly to a charity! In French with English subtitles is the first festival presented by l'Entraide Française, (www.entraidefrancaisenyc.com), a not‐for profit organization comprising of a
volunteer team that brings assistance to French citizens residing in the US who experience serious and unforeseeable difficulties and helps them to overcome these distressing moments.

This even illustrated the rich diversity of the contemporary French cinema, and was made possible thanks to the support of Altour, one of the biggest travel agencies in the US; and French Feeling Films, the film production and distribution company.
