This is the old RMS Aquitania, Grand Old Lady of the Atlantic so often called in her latter years. She was the LAST ship to have four funnels built on a ship. There hasn't been a ship like her since her demise at the ship breakers back in 1950!

Other than the part showing Aquitania sinking, which, thank God never happened, this was some fine, rare video footage of the "Grand Old Lady".

the rms aquitania is cool ship.and what is that in 1:17 thats funny if that is MINE

Aquitania is The Ship Beautiful. I love Aquitania.

bring back the old liners, ships were more than a travel necessity in those days they had souls
-
The Aquitania was scrapped in 1950, it never sunk.

@mrsbrown333 I love going to Disneyland, which is why nobody can understand why I won't go on one of their cruises. The thing is, all I would able to think about would be the great ocean liners from back in the day and how beautiful and majestic they were; a beautiful floating palace compared to a floating amusement park. As much as I love Disney, I'd rather sail on the Olympic or another great vessel.

@exeuroweenie Exactly. They have no shape, no style. Just blocks with a bow and stern stuck on.
-
@phoenix1985 That explains why liners were beautiful.Present day cruise ship look like they have a hormonal imbalance.

@alexxxxxx23 oh, thanks
Liners are supposed to have high speed, most cruise ships can barely do 22 knots. A liner has to have a buttoned up superstructure, cruise ships have exposed. Liners have long bow decks unlike cruise ships whos bow decks are short. Liners have lifeboats high above the water line, cruise ships lifeboats are placed low. Liners have deep draft unlike cruise ships whos drafts are quite low. Finally a liner must have a finely shaped hull instead of an apartment block w/ a bow and stern attached.

lovely cruises like this dont exist anymore..now its like disneyland cruises, with lavish buffets and waterslides and loud obnoxious families. ah, the good old days, when cruises were romantic travails to far off lands. minus the tourists.
