1991 University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Band "The Music of Leonard Bernstein"

This is the first home game of the 1991 Season. It was before they completed the north end zone so we only had a few 97000+ people in attendance ;) . The biggest thing was the HEAT. It was so hot 100+ degrees on the field...not only that, but they had "watered" the field down (astroturf) to "cool it off". All it did was make a sauna. This was before the "mercy" days - the band and colorguard had to wear our uniforms the entire game (it was on TV!). I believe they let us unbutton our top button. I can't remember how many people passed out after this 11 minutes -- but it was quite a few. The stadium medics were busy at halftime!

Were you there for the second coming of the Power T or were you there in the late 1970s and early 1908s when the Power T was originally in pregame?

Now THAT is when it was a band! I was there 87 -91, and it really was something then. Can't say as much now....

Awesome! you don't have any old pregames do you? I wouldn't mind seeing some pregames before the Power T was introduced, and before the USA was inverted!
